Herbert (left), with his older brother, George Henry Linter.
Herbert was a policeman when he met his future wife - apparently she was rather fond of men in uniforms!
Unfortunately, he was dismissed from his job after being discovered drunk whilst on his beat!
Circa 1917: With his wife, Mary Ann (Polly) and four of their children; (from left) Alice Mary, George Edwin, Reginald Charles and
Herbert Thomas
With eldest son, Herbert Thomas Linter, in their respective uniforms (Herbert senior was a fireman at this time,
whilst Herbert junior was in the Royal Navy).
Circa 1939: (l to r) Eric George Linter, Herbert, Mary
Ann (wife), Nora K. Linter (nee Reynolds) and Nora’s mother.
October 1957: Herbert’s burial at West Norwood Cemetery, South London.
